Product video that can't go off-brand.

A global beauty group wanted promo video at volume — but could not hand its packaging to a generative model. Magic builds the video around a fixed 3D asset of the product. The product never changes. Only the scene does.

The problem

Marketing needs a constant stream of short product video — marketplace listings, paid social, retail media. Generative video is the obvious answer, and for a brand of this size it is the wrong one. The product itself gets re-invented. A fully generative pipeline re-samples the product on every run. Shape drifts. Proportions drift. The logo comes back almost right. For a global beauty group, packaging is a controlled asset — you cannot ship creative in which the product is an approximation of itself, and you cannot warrant to anyone that it won't be. And the hard part is the back of pack. Rotate a bottle in a promo clip and the back has to be correct: multilingual directions for use, the INCI ingredient list, the barcode, regulatory marks. Generative models do not reproduce that — they produce something that looks like it from two metres away.

Hybrid, not generative

Magic's templates build the shot around a product-grounded 3D asset. The product is deterministic — it is a model of the real packaging, so it is right by construction. The scene around it is generated. That split is the whole idea. We built a set of templates for the group's creative agency and ran the onboarding. From then on, the workflow is theirs:

01

The agency uploads the 3D model of a product.

02

It picks a template — a studio set, a landscape scene, a social format.

03

It gets a finished promo video back. First render, no revision loop.

No brief, no VFX studio, no round of "the label is wrong again". The team that needs the video makes the video.

The work

Three examples, straight out of the templates — vertical, ten seconds, ready for social.

Look at the back of the bottle

This is a frame from the render, not a photograph. Directions for use in five languages. The full INCI ingredient list. The batch code. Every line is the real text from the real pack, because it came from the 3D asset rather than from a model's idea of what a label looks like. This is the part no generative pipeline gets right — and the part a regulated product category cannot get wrong.

The economics

Once the 3D asset exists, a new variant is a render, not a gamble.

Asset-based rendering is one to two orders of magnitude cheaper per accepted variant — as well as faster and more predictable.

Why it matters if you run an app

Brand safety

The product in the frame is the product, by construction. There is no run in which the logo comes out wrong, because the logo was never generated. That is a governance property, not a quality setting.

Predictability

A render either exists or it doesn't. No sampling, no re-rolling, no creative director picking the least-wrong of six attempts. Budget and schedule stop being probabilistic.

Reuse

Build the asset once, spend it forever. Every new campaign, format and channel is another render of the same object — not another attempt to recreate it.

If your product can't be approximated

Regulated packaging, controlled brand assets, a catalogue that needs video every month — that is exactly where fully generative pipelines stop being usable. We build the templates around your products, onboard your team or your agency, and the video comes out right the first time.
